A huge thank you to Bethel Christian Center for taking care of Mrs. Allen for us. Mrs. Allen was so excited and made the comment "the Lord sent angels to me". Camille and the crew really loaded her up with food and other goodies. She said that she got up during the night just to take inventory of everything she received. Mrs. Allen was the woman that was going to save a rotisserie chicken for over a week just so she would be able to put meat on the table for her family.
We had one situation where a prostitute that has been off the streets for a while was back out again the day before Thanksgiving. I stopped to talk to her and she said that she did not have food for Thanksgiving and that prostituting was the only way she was going to put food on the table. I told her that we would make sure that she had a Thanksgiving dinner and to go back home. I called Pastor Barry of Grace Baptist and he handled getting food to her. Another huge thank you to Grace Baptist!!
These two men (Jimmy & Johnny) did not have food for Thanksgiving. They were very happy to come to the house and pick out the food that they wanted including a turkey. We thank Pastor Stuart and the people of Bible Believers Church for the turkey and a basket full of food that they gave.
This past weekend I was able to fill a gap for Pastor Barry of Grace Baptist. He had a funeral to do so I hooked up with our great friend, Beth Greenwold to do the food pickup and distribution. Above, Beth is with a nice guy and lover of Jesus that stopped to give us a hand. We ended up with a jam packed van of food and clothes. Beth is an awesome lady of God with a heart to reach those that do not know JESUS. Eileen and I really enjoy being around Beth.
We were given a shopping cart full of chocolate milk. Part of it had already been removed before I could take a picture. It went fast when we got to the distribution site.
Beth and I had a great time of ministry. I spoke to the people prior giving everything out then prayed with them. We laid down some ground rules that were not followed and then it was on. We want the people that are most in need to get the food first. There are always the greedy that start grabbing things. We will work on that in the future.
Here was some people that really needed the help. Tracy on the right suffers from Lupis and other challenges. Her along with her daughter (left) and their mother all came out. We will be helping them more this week.
